History and Upbringing Dominique was raised by Bill and Fleur Weasley in both France and England. Although she is fluent in French and was raised to be like an upper-crust, well-rounded woman, it seems as though Bill played more of an influence in her overall character. As a child, she'd love playing outside with her father and various male cousins. Even though Fleur obviously didn't approve of this boyish behaviour, her main wish was for her daughter to be happy, so she never complained. Dominique isn't only her father's daughter, though; she definitely inherited some of her mother's traits. She is certainly able to turn the charm on when she wants to, and she's poised if the situation warrants it. She understands that she can use her looks to her advantage. To be quite honest, though, most of the time she is silly, slightly uncontrollable, and extremely off-the-cuff. Dominique tends to be emotional and has no problem showing it - if she's angry about something, she's not the type of person to mask her anger; she'll instead yell in your face. Don't let that fool you, though: she's a very friendly and sociable person. Dominique has two siblings: her older sister, Victoire, and her younger brother, Louis. Other than the various small sibling fights they may have, she feels extremely close to her siblings and knows that nothing can compare to the bond they share. She also has a very large extended family, and she enjoys spending time with all of them. Dominique especially loves the boys in her family, because she feels like she's able to act as un-ladylike as possible and won't be judged. |
Current State of Mind Dominique is a very good student, though truthfully she doesn't think she's as good as her sister. Though she makes mostly good grades, she has had her fair share of failures in the past: no matter how many times she tries to understand Potions, it's as if she's put up a mental block. (Uncle Harry says it's not important anyway.) However, due to her good grades in her other subjects and her love of school, she was placed in Ravenclaw. She isn't sure what, exactly, she wants to be when she grows up, but she's extremely interested in Defense Against the Dark Arts and Astronomy. She gets the best grades in those classes, and she hopes to someday find a job that can deal with one of them. However, she's trying not to worry about the future too much and is attempting to enjoy her time at Hogwarts while it lasts. Dominique is straight and single, and though she doesn't have a boyfriend, she sometimes finds herself longing for one. She doesn't vocalize these feelings, though, and attempts to act unconcerned with her lack of romance. |
Role in the Plot One main role Dominique plays is that she is able to tell Victoire about the gossip going around the school. Since no one really suspects her of being the gossipy type, she's able to slyly listen in on conversations and then share them with someone she thinks (and hopes) won't spread it around too much. (But knowing Victoire, she can't be too sure.) |
